Himja means “Born of the Himalayas.”

Nestled in the mountains of Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, at an altitude of 7,000+ feet, Himja was founded by Sumit Sharma and Ankush Negi, two friends who grew up amidst apple orchards, mountain farms, and the pure Himalayan way of life.

For us, the Himalayas are not just a place—they are home. Living at over 7,000 feet above sea level, we have been fortunate to experience nature in its purest form. Fresh mountain air, crystal-clear water, traditional farming practices, and wholesome food have always been a part of our everyday lives. Even today, we remain closely connected to our roots, actively working in our family apple orchards and learning from the land that has shaped us.

As we looked beyond our mountains, we realised that many families were searching for food that was pure, authentic, and true to its origin. This inspired a simple thought:

Why should the goodness of the Himalayas remain limited to the people who live here?

What started as a conversation between two friends soon became a mission—to bring the freshness, purity, and authenticity of the Himalayan region to homes across India.
